Annette Gutierrez’s About Me Montage

Hey everyone! My name is Annette Gutierrez. I am a Cuban-American born and raised in Tampa. I am one of three. I have two sisters the same age as me, Yvette and Janette. I love my family and I love spending time with my friends. I love to dance, especially Latin dancing. It’s in my blood to get up and dance – when I hear it, I move to it. I also enjoy performing on stage, whether it be singing or dancing, I love it! When I’m on stage I feel so alive.

The idea of lights, camera, action excites me, which is why I am majoring in Mass Communications focused in Broadcast-Production. However, the productions I’m interested in aren’t limited to video productions, I am also fascinated by stage productions and dance productions. Because of this, I am minoring in Theatre.

Currently, I am working at WUSF, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Through this job I have gained so much experience. I was actively part of the show, University Beat, that aired weekly on WUSF. I learned about the pre-production, production, and the post-production process that goes on in TV. Also, learned about working and handling a company’s social media page, creating content for websites, and a little bit about TV programming. But I must say, my favorite part was being in the WUSF Kid’s Promo video.

Some of my future aspirations are to travel to Cuba and Spain. I would love to explore and delve into my roots a little bit more. With regards to my future career, I’m not sure where I will be going, but I hope its bright!
